Tooth Bonding

If you are unhappy with the general appearance of your teeth, including their color, shape, size, or spacing, but are not quite ready to make the leap to porcelain veneers or crowns, dental bonding may be an option for you. Dental bonding is done using a special composite resin that is placed on the outer surface of your tooth enamel to improve the appearance of your teeth. We also use bonding to repair chipped or cracked teeth.

Why dental bonding ?

Dental bonding comes with a wealth of advantages which makes it a popular cosmetic treatment used today. For a start, it is considered one of the most affordable and effective cosmetic treatments to enhance a person’s smile. Additionally, bonding can be used to accomplish a number of smile goals. For instance, you can improve the color of the teeth, reshape the teeth, and achieve a straighter, more even smile. Incidentally, composite resin also offers a layer of protection from further damage from acid wear and even mechanical wear depending on its placement. At Smiles on Queen, we use high-quality bonding material that blends perfectly with your natural teeth. This is a popular cosmetic procedure that you can use to get a bright and beautiful smile.

What to expect – dental bonding

Before the procedure is done, you can visit our clinic and speak to a qualified dentist regarding your goals and concerns. Our dentist will ask questions to better understand what you would like to achieve once the bonding procedure is completed. At your next appointment, the dentist may apply local anesthesia in order to numb the tooth and the area around it, depending on if the teeth have any decay or other problems that need repair prior to the cosmetic work. For teeth with no decay, anaesthesia is often not needed, as drilling will be very minimal and restricted to the outermost layer of the teeth to allow for adequate room of the composite resin material.

The bonding material will be placed directly on your teeth and shaped. The dentist skillfully blends the resin with the adjacent teeth. A color matched composite resin is used to give you a natural-looking smile.. Once the dentist completes shaping of the bonded material, a special light is used to harden it and ensure it is perfectly attached to your teeth. Once done, you can walk out of our dental clinic with a beautiful smile.

Get a stunning smile with dental bonding

An excellent time for a child’s first dental visit would be when their first teeth begin to appear. It is very important to establish an appropriate dental health care routine for your child from as early as age one. A first visit usually entails meeting the dentist and staff, accustoming the child to a dental environment and check ups, and oral hygiene / dietary instructions.

There are also ways to make the first dental visit more enjoyable and comfortable for your child. Do not use words that will cause your child to develop unnecessary fear before visiting the dental clinic such as a needle or hurt. Children often fear dental clinics because of the message that was conveyed to them earlier on . Most importantly, visit a kid-friendly dental clinic that will do all it takes to make your child feel relaxed and have a pleasant experience.
