Dr. Lawrence Hung
After moving to Toronto from his hometown of Edmonton, Dr. Lawrence Hung obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto in 2013. He is passionate about providing personalized, comprehensive dental care for his patients in private practice. His areas of interest include sedation, oral surgery and implantology.
Committed to enhancing patient care and developing his clinical knowledge, Dr.Hung strives to distinguish himself through staying active in organized dentistry. From 2013 to 2014, he completed a mini-residency at the University of Toronto Graduate Periodontics Clinic to perfect his technique for implant restoration. In 2017, he was awarded a Fellowship with the International Congress of Implant Dentistry, and in 2018, he became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also licensed to provide moderate sedation dentistry.
Dr.Hung has traveled to Guatemala and the Dominican Republic to provide dental services to patients in need and hopes to continue providing his services to underprivileged populations. He lives with his wife, Dr. Hedy Norsen, and their two cockatiels, Jub Jub and Luna. In his free time, he enjoys yoga and snowboarding with his reluctant wife.
Dr. Hedy Norsen
Dr. Hedy Norsen enjoys working with patients of all ages. After graduating from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 2013 with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery, she devoted herself to learning and perfecting smile makeovers, including adult orthodontics and detection and correction of early bone malformations in children. She has completed courses and mini-residencies under leaders in the field of orthodontics, including at the Faculté of Orthodontic Research, and is an experienced Invisalign provider. She is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has trained with plastic surgeons to perfect her technique for cosmetics fillers and therapeutic botox therapy for TMJ pain and tension headaches.
Dr. Norsen also greatly enjoys working with children and is always gentle and accommodating for patients with anxiety and phobias. When she is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys writing and composing music. Her first children’s novel, Orchidus Academy, was published in February 2014, and she finished her Ontario-wide book tour at Chapters Indigo the summer of the same year. She is currently working on her first debut into musical theatre.
Phillipa (Dental Assistant and Administrator)
Phillipa has been in the dental field for over 12 years. She has been both a dental assistant and dental reception and enjoys working with patients one-on-one to put them at ease. She graduated from the CDI College, where she completed her Level I & II Dental Assisting program, and is skilled in performing teeth whitening, impressions, polishing, and many of your dental needs. She is always devoted to ensuring the needs of her patients are met. Her goal is to see everyone who walks into the office leave with a smile on their face!
In her leisure time, she loves spending time with friends and family, including joining her two boys in outdoor activities such as soccer and basketball.
Susan (Dental Assistant)
Susan is a proud, dedicated mother of two and takes pride in her career. She graduated with honours in the Intraoral Level II Program at Everest College and has eight years of dental experience. When she’s not working, she enjoys camping, swimming , fishing, jogging, hanging out with friends and watching comedies. She always looks forward to building new relationships and sharing many smiles with all the patients at Smiles on Queen Dentistry!
Mary Grace (Dental Assistant, Infection Control Officer)
As a graduate of George Brown College’s Dental Administration and Level II Dental Assisting program, Mary Grace is very passionate about dentistry. She always enjoys seeing familiar faces and meeting the new smiles that come through the door everyday. You will see her hip to hip with our wonderful dentists in the back making sure that your visit with us is comfortable! Aside from dentistry, she enjoy travelling and playing with her two wonderful dogs Merry & Leia.
Alycia (Dental Hygienist)
Alycia is passionate about providing thorough preventative care with a gentle touch. She loves making a positive change in her patients’ lives through education and goal setting. She strives to ensure her patients always have a comfortable, informative visit. Alycia attended the Canadian Academy of Dental Health, where she graduated with Honours and became a Registered Dental Hygienist shortly after. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, playing soccer, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.
Zoe (Office Manager)
Zoe is the Office Manager at Smiles on Queen Dentistry. She completed her training in Dental Office Administration at George Brown College, and has since devoted herself to streamlining your dental office visit by dealing with the paperwork and insurance side of treatment, so that you don’t have to! She is the perfect person to talk to when you have questions regarding your insurance coverage, payment plans, booking an appointment, and an initial explanation of all your dental services.
Aside from helping patients and keeping us all organized, she enjoys trying new recipes and watching Korean dramas with subtitles.
