Do you need sedation dentistry?
When you visit your Smiles on Queen dentist, he/she will perform a simple evaluation to determine if sedation dentistry is an ideal solution for you.
Sedation dentistry is often recommended for individuals who have:
- Fear and anxiety of undergoing dental treatments
- A difficulty to getting numb
- A history of trauma during dental procedures
- Sensitive gag reflex
- Difficulty opening the mouth
- Complex dental problems
If you always dread going to the dentist or fail to follow through with your appointment due to fear and anxiety, we may recommend sedation dentistry. Some of our patients require sedation after having a bad experience at the dental clinic as a child. Others simply have an aversion to needles and cannot stand the sight of a dentist performing a procedure while they watch. Do not allow fear to come in the way of proper dental care. For dental treatments that are invasive or lengthy, we perform sedation to ensure the patient is at ease and the procedure is properly done. At Smiles on Queen, we understand your fears and we are ready to do all it takes to ensure your dental needs are met.

Types of Sedation
Depending on your need, different levels of sedation is offered, ranging from mild conscious sedation to deep sedation
Oral sedation is done by giving the patient a small pill which is taken approximately an hour before the procedure begins. It allows the patient to be sedated just enough in order to feel relaxed and comfortable during the procedure. Our dental team will ensure that all your vitals are carefully monitored during the process so that you enjoy a relaxing, comfortable and safe dental treatment.
For many of our patients, the fear of visiting the dental clinic is real. We can help you feel completely relaxed and get the work you need done comfortably.
